The Basement is one of the rooms inside The Cabin. The Protagonist brings here their victims in order to ration their meat. The whole place is filled with rotting corpses. While coming down the stairs, Mariah's, Gregor's and Anatoly's ghosts speak to The Protagonist

I apologize: in the original game, you would get the Karin ending when you first are confronted by her at the stairs. I patched it to be at the very end to avoid new players from skipping the normal ending and being VERY confused!
