What's up with Crate Amps? Are they out of business?
2017年8月6日 · The crate tube amps were pretty good. A couple years ago, I sat in with a friends band, the other guitar player played a crate tube amp and it sounded really good. The solid state stuff, and that little practice amp, ugh.

I had a love hate relationship with all things Crate and SLM. Crate could hit some great price points. But literally every store in town was a crate dealer.

2023年5月4日 · These amps were decent inexpensive and virtually indestructable amps in their day but time has really run past them, IMHO. Tones concerned, I would frankly even prefer most 1990's Crate amps over these pre TransTube Peavey thingies. Today I'd definitely go for the Cub. Oh boy, you should try the older ones.
