The Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Training Program at Madigan Army Medical Center is a four-year residency program accredited for two residents per year. The first resident began in July of 1965. This program was most recently re-accredited by CODA in April of 2022.

For dental care outside of a military dental clinic, TRICARE offers dental coverage for service members, families and survivors. Additionally, retired service members, their families and certain survivors may qualify to purchase dental coverage through the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program.

Lefler Dental Clinic is home to the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program. This 12-month program provides professional post-doctoral training, encompassing closely supervised clinical and didactic experience in all major dental specialties.

The McChord Field Dental Clinic is operated by the U.S. Army Dental Command. General dentistry and selected specialty services are provided for active duty personnel. Procedures performed include: -Examinations -Cleanings (Prophylaxis) -Preventive Services (Fluoride, Sealants, Instruction) -Tooth Fillings (Restorative) -Root Canals (Endodontics)
