Colorado Desert, part of the Sonoran Desert, extending southeastward for 164 miles (264 km) from the San Gorgonio Pass in southeastern California, U.S., to the Colorado River delta in northern Mexico.

It is found in desert areas of southern California, Arizona, and northwestern Mexico, including the Baja California peninsula, and is a characteristic woody plant along washes in the Colorado desert. It features cylindrical legumes.
