2012年8月8日 · I advise against using Dex-Cool in systems that don't have pressurized tanks. The constant supply of fresh oxygen just kills that coolant. The 3800 does not have a pressurized tank, so please dump the Dexcool and do a thorough cleaning of the cooling system.

2018年4月22日 · Also remember that Dex-Cool is for sealed systems. Systems with open flap overflow catch bottles are a NO GO for Dex-Cool. I've replaced old Dex with new Dex (found a bunch of unopened gallons of concentrate at the home of an ex-employee of a defunct Chevy dealership. Clean system and distilled water has the Dex sparkling to this day.

2010年11月21日 · The predominate brand of coolant sold where I live is Prestone. I went out of my way to find a different brand and found Shell brand Dex-Cool at a local auto parts chain. The clerk there informed me that all Dex-Cool is made by the same manufacturer. I didn't pay much attention to that comment until I read a reply from PonderosaTX in another thread

2019年8月14日 · The Dex-Cool problem has not existed in decades. I have a 1999 GMC Sierra that has had it as the coolant all of it's life with no problems. I have a friend with a 2006 Silverado with well over 300,000 miles that has used nothing but Dex-Cool.

2006年12月21日 · Don't believe the myths about replacing Dex-cool, it can be done successfully, just be sure to flush the system well. I open the drain plug, remove the radiator cap, pull off a bypass hose, and back flush a few times with a garden hose, (heater control on high), until the water runs clear.
