2013年5月11日 · Because the cryovac bag is not water permeable, the aging process and the result are different. The UMAI bags are a thin, single-ply membrane that is water permeable. A vacuum sealer is used to draw the bag tight to the surface of the meat and this is where some people get confused and think that this is wet aging.

Then my problem was tying off and suspending multiple bags (2-4) with 4-8oz of hops total was an irritating process. Cleaning the bags has always been irritating.

2015年3月7日 · I have had mixed results with Hops bags. I feel like I don't get very good results with them. I especially have had bad results with dry hopping using them. I'm sure it is probably a surface area issue. That is just my opinion of course. The best thing to do is brew two of the exact same batches, one using bags and another with out.

2013年6月4日 · The way I use tea can add some bitter flavor so your flavors need to compliment that. I basically "Dry hop" the tea leaves strait in the primary. For concentrate wines or sweeter meads I like to use 3tsp of loose leaf tea per gallon strait in the primary. If I want a less bitter taste then I back off going as low as 1tsp per gallon.

I have been experimenting with small batches and if I use a glass carboy it is a pain and a half to bag the hop pellets and be able to remove them from the fermenter. However, if I simply add the hops it is a pain to rack the mead or cider from the hops.
