2022年7月9日 · For ear protection, lots of folks say custom molded ones, but I disagree. I went down that road for years. I eventually switched to Howard Leight disposable foam ones for a couple reasons. First, they have a 33dB Noise Reduction Rating (NRR), while custom molded ones are typically around 26-28dB NRR.

2010年1月8日 · Plugs are convenient; muffs are effective. Muffs cover part of the mastoid process (that porous bony bump behind the ear) through which some damaging sound passes. Plugs generally do a better job of sealing the ear canal and interfere less with the stock. Foam plugs do the best job of conforming to the shape of the ear canal.

Use a good comfortable foam ear plug (those "Quiet please" plugs you get a walmart are just fine, but the softer "3M foam Disposable Earplugs" or "Uline Bell Earplugs" work good too and are more comfortable). and then put a set of the thin profile DRN electronic ear muffs over them, like the "Walkers Razor Series" ear muffs.
