Dec 9, 2023 · The Eaton CL series breakers are UL Classified for use in most Siemens panels. The Eaton BR series are not. Using a breaker that is not listed for use in a panel is a Code violation. The BR breakers will not spontaneously combust or anything.

Jun 11, 2014 · i have a Eaton Cutler Hammer panel that uses BR type of breakers (and a few other Eaton types), but most of the breakers are BR type. my local electric supply is a Siemens shop, they say the Q250 and QF120 will fit my panel. Siemens says "they might work, we dont have x-reference, but using our breaker in your Eaton panel will void our warranty".

The label and the specifications state that this is a 20/40 panel, 20 slots and 40 circuits. When I opened it and looked at the bus it can only accept non-CTL tandem circuit breakers.

Mar 12, 2024 · I have been interchanging Eaton BR style circuit breakers with Murray, Westinghouse, and T&B panels for years. Never had a problem. I was reading online about the CL style and the BR style breakers. I emailed Eaton and they told me that BR style breakers are only UL listed for BR panels and that CL is for the "no longer made panels" above.

These are the C-H classified breakers. please note that that if listed by UL, C-H classified breakers can be used in other manufacturer's panels.
