Dec 30, 2009 · I traded a '98 Oldsmobile Bravada for a mid *guessing* 50's Farmall 400 narrow front with an articulate loader. Tractor was not in the best of shape but she ran and the hoses held pressure. Tin was straight, yada yada yada. Long story short: it wasn't the prettiest red toy, but it serverd my needs, and I like to think I got a deal on it.

Oct 4, 2017 · My neighbor bought a Farmall 400 and is in the process of fixing it up to plant and grow hay. This thing is diesel but uses a gas engine to start the diesel. One of the problems is that the fan belt is very loose. The pulley is an adjustable type but he has no owner's manual so does not know how to adjust it.

Jan 19, 2011 · My father had a 400 when I was a kid. The power steering was unhooked because it had blown hoses, sprayed oil on the manifold, and caught on fire three separate times. He'd never let me drive it, though I got to drive other tractors, and traded it off when I was 9. To this day though I am a Farmall nut, I dislike 400s.

Apr 9, 2015 · Was there a front end for the 400 that was extra wide? I'm trying to change the front wheel width, and the axles wont slide in anymore. After trying to slide them in, I finally pulled one out and it was really long. Too long to slide in to reach the last pin(pin closest to tire).

Apr 22, 2011 · Super M is a lot more akin to the 400 than it's older "M" sibling. Supers usually got more goodies: 3pt, TA, hydraulic ports/pump that sorta thing. M's were kinda the plain Jane. My Farmall manual mentions the same engine for the Gas and LP models, just a difference of carbs for the LP vs. the gas. **Some engines are built different however.

This is what I plan on using in my 1941 Farmall M: Motor Oil: 8 Qtrs of 15W-40 (Valvoline) Hydraulic: 6 Qtrs of SAE 30 (Vavloline) Transmission: 13 Gallons of 80W-90 (Valvoline) Coolant/Antifreeze: 3 Gallons Pure, Topped off with water (Prestone) Just list what you use! Apr 21, 2011 · whats a farmall 400 diesel worth? I beleave it is a 1956, starts on gas then switches to diesel. It has good tires, good straight tin work, has live power and good working torque, has wide front, this tractor is above average condition just needs a little paint.
