Equipped with best midrange drivers ever developed by Focal, with the NIC and TMD technologies, Sopra n°2 pushes back the limits of sound reproduction in terms of transparency in a very compact enclosure.

Paired with a Mark Levinson No.585 integrated amplifier and Moon 260D CD player, the Sopra No.2 impressed immediately. Playing Argerich’s Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1, it effortlessly conveyed the piano’s authority. Bass notes showed both weight and speed, with clear string vibration detail rather than merely undefined low-frequency extension.

2017年1月12日 · This is my review of the incredible Focal Sopra No 2 floor standing loudspeakers in gloss Carrera white and henceforth known as the stormtroopers in this household.

Focal specifies that the Sopra No2’s woofers and midrange hand over to each other at 250Hz, the midrange and tweeter at 2200Hz. The speaker’s claimed sensitivity is a very high 91dB/2.83V/m, and its impedance a nominal 8 ohms with a 3.1-ohm minimum, which is pretty typical.

While close (and both have a gorgeous sound) the Sopra #2 edged out the Guarneri for me, and they come in at $9,000 LESS than the Guarneri while offering more/better bass, midrange and treble and offer more realism. They look just as nicely made as well.
