I'm looking for a truck to tow a gooseneck horse trailer with a GVWR of 6080. I think I want an F-250 Super Duty, extended cab, 4X4, manual transmission, gas engine. The truck won't be used more than about 1,000 miles per year for short trips (less than 50 miles each) so I don't think I want a deisel.Any arguements there?

I can go out and buy a GMC crew cab or Ford 150 crew for less than a F-250 diesel, but the gas mileage stinks. From what I have read diesel might be a great alternative because of the interstate miles that I will rack up on the truck. I have talked to several people that have the F-250 diesel trucks and they love them.

In reference to problems with the 2001 F-250 Ford Truck with the 7.3 Power Stroke Diesel engine; our truck, after several years of dependable service, began to stall and shutdown while driving down the highway. Normally the truck would not start until it set a while, etc. (10, 15, 30 minutes) and sometimes for several hours or more.

I have a 2003 f 250 super duty diesel and when I shift into 4+4 the 4+4 light comes on but the front wheels don't drive I also tried it in low range and the transfer case shifted into low but still know front wheel drive .I am new to this truck any ideas. (The 4 wheel drive did work a month ago )

I have an '03 F-250 Super Duty 4 dr Gas, Had the plugs changed, oil changed, and rear brakes done. Now when I accelerate from a red light the ABS light comes on and the speedo freaks out for a few seconds.... then the light goes out and the speedo starts to act right. Also it seems to have a rougher ride and less power. Please Help. Thank You,

To my knowledge the Super Crew comes only as a F-150 model, with a 2WD gvw of 6600, and 4WD gvw of 6750, not the figures Jo posted in post #1. Ford does make a F-250 Super-Duty Crew Cab, but that's a completely different animal from the F-150 Super Crew. Bob
