A fun invasion game encouraging social play. What's required? You need 4 or more players but no equipment is required. They need to know each other's names. How to play: The children agree on a home base like a bench, section of wall or tree etc. One child is chosen to be the defender or simply on 'it' and their role is to protect the base.
Hiding Game 44 Home - University of Melbourne
This is a hide-and-seek game. The players do 'Twenty-one' to find who is 'It'. 'It' hides his face against the padded goal post and counts up to 44 while the others hide. When 'It' finds someone he must run and touch the base and say 'Forty-four home' before the other player reaches it. If the other player touches the base first, he is safe.
When 40 is reached the defender shouts “40-40” and goes to look for the other children. The hiding children now have to try to get back to the base without being seen. If the defender spots a hiding child they race back to the base and shout “40 – 40 out” and the child they’ve spotted name. The spotted child is then out.
