Check that you have all parts required for installation, and that the engine is cool. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable. Gauge mounts in a 25⁄8” hole for 25⁄8” gauges, and a 21⁄16” hole for 21⁄16” gauges. Connect the purple sender wire to the fuel level sender. Existing wires may be used, or route the purple sender wire to the fuel tank.
FUEL LEVEL GAUGE WIRING (Figure 4): 1. Disconnect negative (-) battery cable. 2. Using 18-ga. wire, connect the (G) terminal to a clean (rust/paint-free) Figure 4ground. 3. Using 18 gauge wire, connect the (I) terminal to a switched +12V source. 4. Using 18-gauge wire, connect the (S) sender terminal of the gauge to the fuel level sender. 5.
Route the Green Signal Wire from the Fuel Level Gauge Power Harness to the vehicle’s fuel level sensor signal wire, splicing together using a butt connector. Note: It may be necessary to extend the wire using an 18ga automotive grade wire.
