Today George in his 70´s continues to paint scenes of the Chesapeake Bay region, commissioned portraits of historical Americans like Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglas; famous athletes; and the wild life, waterman, and waterways of his beloved Dorchester County, Maryland and more.

* Commissioned oil painting for the Duke University Men’s Division I Basketball Team, as the won the Back to Back National Championships in 1991 and 1992; * Commissioned portrait of the “The Splendid Splinter” Ted Williams, for the Ted Williams Baseball Hall of Fame in Hernando, Florida;

That’s not all. Wright’s portrait of former Maryland Governor Marvin Mandel hangs in the Maryland Senate, and he was also commissioned by Tom Brown (former Green Bay packer and two-time Super Bowl champion) to complete an original oil painting of Vince Lombardi titled “The Seven Faces of Lombardi.”
