2014年1月18日 · I tried getting long-lasting edible chews, but the “even longer lasting” formula lasted Loki about 5 minutes, and got crumbs ALL OVER the carpet. Bones are okay, but he’s really not a big fan. So again, about the only thing that strikes his interest are the stuffed hooves (or I’m sure he’d like to lick filling out of a hollow bone)…

2014年11月1日 · Buy canned dog food or Honest Kitchen dehydrated food, smash it up nice and gross, toss some kibble or carrots or whatever left overs you don't feel like eating into the god awful mix, pack the bones. We refrigerate or freeze these ones. Canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) is great as a stuffer, but you need to freeze it or it will leak out.

My puppy will hyperfocus on bones too so I let her have them for 30-45 min after dinner. Works great. Switched my older dog to a similar routine and he’s adjusted great. He’s had more interest in bones since the puppy came home and also don’t want him to be weird and resource guard.

2022年8月10日 · Our dog is an extremely aggressive nonstop chewer. We've had to pluck parts of bones from her throat, nephew says he had to do "doggy cpr".because of supposedly safe bones. Now she only gets a rope pull toy, maybe 5 minutes under direct supervision (he plays a little tug of war with her, says he let's her win or she'd pull all her teeth out).

2018年11月21日 · I buy my dog those marrow bones from Chuck & Don's that are filled with some sort of artificial filling. My dog loves them for the filling, but pretty much abandons them once empty. I've been working on a replacement filling. Simply stuffing them with peanut better, even after freezing, just never lasts very long.

I have a (40% protein, 50% veg, and 10% startch) The protein is chicken, the veg is 3 part broccoli, 3 part carrot, and 1 part celery, and brown rice for starch.

2012年12月9日 · Turkey necks, chicken quarters, chicken backs, turkey feet, etc. are all great too but likely won’t last as long. They can be considered a meal. Knuckle bones and marrow bones are much harder but with an aggressive chewer I’d be careful as they’re so hard your dog could break a tooth.. Never cook bones, they should always be fed raw.
