Getting overspray off without damaging clear coat.
2004年12月24日 · Start with 800-1000 grit paper, always use a squeegee to remove sanded film and look to see if all the overspray has been removed from that spot. If so, wetsand the entire surface. Now change the grit of the paper to 1200 and wetsand the clear topcoat to remove the sand lines and scratches from the previous paper.

2014年5月18日 · Last week I removed some rust from the lip of the wheel well on my 2003 Taurus daily driver. I primed, painted, and clear coated the area . Overall it turned out great. The only problem is that some of the overspray from the clear coat managed to find it's way onto panel above the wheel. It's not noticble to most people but it's driving me nuts.

2014年2月13日 · Re: Newly painted car - but it looks like clear coat overspray inside car! ugh!...one quick addition: don't use the Isopropyl Alcohol on leather seats, that is not necessary and there is a better way for leather to remove overspray on this natural material. Leather comes with a quite rich and repelling surface from the tanning process.

Often times if you have your car painted, or just a portion of it, chances are good over the rest of the car you're going to have some overspray paint and the paint will need to be clayed to remove the overspray.

IMO, assuming the paint is sufficiently hard, you can compound with UC/M105 on foam hundreds of separate times with many dozens of passes each - even that might be a low figure, because those are medium-strength combos that are not actually cutting the clear without a lot of work.
