2024年2月18日 · My 12' 55 sits just about waist high on the cement unhooked. My uncles (similar but not IH) sits knee high. Take alot more stuff to plug mine up vs his old one. IIRC 30 something inches vs teen something inches for tooth length. fwiw, I feel like the Hi-clear is a real chisel plow and the short is a cultivator.

2014年4月24日 · I am the 55 chisel plow master. I currently own 6 of them and have had a 55 around for nearly 40 years. I pick them up at farm sales for + or - $500 and stretch them to make bigger. I have all kinds of extensions and extra shanks. When I put one together, since we don't have rocks, I take the springs off and replace them with schedule 80 pipe.

2010年10月25日 · I bought a new 3pt # 55 3 bar, 13 shank chiesel plow back in the day. IH also offered a 2 bar # 55 in either fasthitch or 3pt (not sure if the 3 bar was offered in fasthitch or just 3pt) and a 3 bar #55 pull type.

2020年5月23日 · The plow needs an 8" stroke ASAE type cylinder which has a 2" longer rod than a standard 8" stroke cylinder. The standard cylinder is 18-1/2" fully extended and the ASAE is 20-1/2" fully extended as I recall.

2017年10月27日 · Are these two in the same,my manual says 55 Chisel Plow the chisel plow says 5500 International .Its ten ft. wide with two extensions.I have three inch twisted shovels on it.My problem is it wants to bounce,not all the time but more often than I like. Any ideas.

2021年3月25日 · Dad bought one new like that in late 70's.11 shank, I spent many days in a 856 3rd or 4th gear, working the TA.That chisel plow replaced the mouldboard on all corn ground, hundreds of acres a year. We had deep soil in eastern P.A. clay mixed in with rocks.
