2014年1月9日 · One road we travel on frequently is a 28 mile dirt highway. It is posted 35 MPH but I think most people feel that is the minimum. I have done 80 or 90 on the road myself. We have been offroad a bit, nothing muddy, just loose dirt and gravel, with no problem.

2007年7月16日 · A Cherokee XJ with 31" X 10.5" tires whips a Wrangler Rubi Unlimited with 33 X 11.5 tires in everyway both on and offroad, and I know since I've owned both. My prior XJ had 30 X 9.5 tires and even that would keep up with or beat my Rubi Unlimited offroad by a little, and onroad by a mile.

2011年1月18日 · A few companies are working on a 2" and 4" lift, should be available this Spring. Thats what my Off-Road Xtreme Jeep Service Manager told me (he helped me lift my ZJ 9"). I'll put a 2" lift on when they are available; just to get a little more height for trail riding. I can't recal the comapnies off-hand but I think Rusty's was one of them.

2009年7月28日 · I have been off road in mine several times (RR 2.25 and 255/70/17 ats) and it has done very well. As far ad QDII it is awesome. you will be suprised as to what you can get through. as stated above, the only drawback is the IFS up front, not the biggest issue if you arent that much into rock crawling etc. The GC rides incredible on road as well.

Done some basic mods, changed fluids, fought some Gremlins in the electronics system, and basically become very close to my WK. 2015年4月15日 · It seems to be a personal preference with most old school guys liking the extra 18 inch sidewall and most new school kids liking 20 inch road handling but with larger than OEM tires for off road. The only quantitative thing is thats its a lot less money replacing damaged 18 inch wheels than 20 inch wheels.

I don't plan to take it on any hardcore trails (Rubicon, etc.), but I would like to drive the two-tracks on my inlaws acreage during the dead of a Michigan winter (snow, ice, mud, occassional small log, but no boulders).

This will be a DD, occasional off road fun and basically reliable transportation. What years, models, engine and trans combos etc are the best?
