Jotul vs Blaze King vs Vermont Castings Wood Stove?
2023年9月20日 · Even though I like their wood stoves this is a significant drawback for me personally. So now I started looking into the Jotul F500 OSLO which has a very nice overall log length of 24". Most of my stuff is 20" and smaller but I do have some stuff that is 24" in my woodyard. So this stuff right out of the gate gets a win for that.
Jotul 8?? Can anyone shed some light on that stove?
2010年12月13日 · Jotul was looking for a 1200-1500 sqft heater that would hold 18-20 inch pieces of wood, (the Oslo would go 20-22 inch wood with ease, up to 2000+ sqft) and the Castine was born. After a couple of years, they went to a single door model Castine F400, sales shot up.

2021年1月28日 · It was hard to keep heated due to its age and construction. This smaller Jotul would have probably been real good in a more insulated house at 1100 square feet. New House/New Stove Purchase: When I started shopping for wood stoves I really looked hard first at the Blaze King stove. I almost pulled the trigger on this stove.

2019年1月19日 · Storing two years of wood (2-3 cords ) seams easiest than 4-6 cords if oak takes more than 3 years. Overall I am very impressed with nearly every aspect of this stove and install. I will be routing blower and temp probe wiring in a better more permanent way and installing the blockoff plate. Even with marginal wood it has burned very well.

Rear venting, and the correct Jotul for the job
2015年10月12日 · That would heat the house well until temps dropped into the lower teens. After a couple seasons I decided to go for 24/7 winter heating with wood and bumped up to the larger PE T6. There are some other stoves you might want to consider for this task like the Quadrafire Explorer II, Hearthstone Shelburne, Hampton H300.
