This is my first playthrough and was really counting on his assistance fighting the gargoyles. I checked near the bonfire and also near the imprisioned firekeeper but the wiki doesn't really say exactly where he is. I woulnd't bother to summon them for Gaping Dragon, the IA is horrible for that fight, you will only incease Gaping HP w/o gaining any real help.
