Lake Afton is a 258-acre (104 ha) man-made recreational lake in Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States, and within the 720-acre (2.9 km 2) Lake Afton Park. It is located east of the intersection of Viola Rd (263rd St W) and MacArthur Rd (39th St S), between the communities of Goddard , Garden Plain , Schulte , Viola .

Lake Afton is a designated Aquatic Invasive Species water. This means anglers cannot leave with live fish in their possession, including bluegill, green sunfish, or other baitfish. All ice fishing in Kansas is extremely dangerous as conditions can change daily or even hourly.

Primitive camping is also available in many locations. A camping day is from 6 p.m. to 6 p.m. the following day or any portion thereof.

Reservations are not required to visit Lake Afton Public Observatory. We accept walk-in visits.
