Lyle Setencich (born June 4, 1945) is an American former college football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Boise State University from 1983 to 1986 and California Polytechnic State University from 1987 to 1993, compiling a career head coaching record of 65–49–2 (.569).

A former collegiate head coach, Lyle Setencich brings a wealth of experience and defensive savvy to the Texas Tech program in his fifth season. His efforts as defensive coordinator earned him the All-American Football Foundation's Mike Campbell Top Assistant Award last year.

Setencich posted a 24–20 record in four seasons at Boise State. His final season in 1986 was the first losing campaign (5–6) for the program in four decades.
