They all use the wings of the pot stand to support the shield. Practically the bottom of the screen needs to be slightly above the fuel valve so that you can still adjust it.

If it is a larger cook pot, then the long dimension is increased to fit around the cook pot with a half-inch of air space all around.

An oven liner pan provides the sides. I rolled the edges of the oven liner pan flat with a rolling pin. The pan provides enough length for my 5-inch diameter pot.

The first few times you use it just monitor the temperature of the canister. An ir thermometer would be great, but you can also just touch it carefully.
