2008年12月24日 · Get a smooth face and rub it against some foundation concrete every once in a while to rough it up a little. A waffle face leaves some ugly dents when you are nailing decking or anything else that shows. I own about 15 hammers, my preference changes depending on season or task at hand. Have fun.

2008年11月3日 · I bought a 28oz Estwing (milled face) thinking it would be best for driving framing nails. It works great and I think it would be impossible to break the handle. It seems to be too heavy though. I think I only need two hammers for what I do, a lighter smooth faced hammer for trim and woodworking, and a heavier milled face for rough carpentry work.

One thing I would change though is to "raise the head a little to keep it the uppermost part of the hammer, as the top can glance off a close surface if you are nailing close to another surface.
