If only using manual focus, not sure if the F6 is that much better.

2023年2月3日 · Nikon made several manual focus screens for the F6. I have the standard screen which came with the camera - which actually I find excellent to manual focus - and the optional one with the diagonal split screen. Check places like ebay, KEH etc for that. Don't mess around with screens that were not meant for the camera.

2017年6月30日 · The F6 screen is almost the same, if not the same, as the B3 screen that was introduced with the FM3a. It is similar to most modern brightness-optimized screens. When i put it in my FE2, it underexposes by about 1/3 of a stop compared to the B2 screen, and about 2/3 of a stop compared to the plain B screen.

2016年9月12日 · According to Nikon Dealers, the F6 is no more, production of new models has ceased and those who are lucky enough to buy one new, it will be previously unsold stock. The F6 focussing and exposure is without doubt the pinacle for film cameras. My opinion for mine is virtually faultless on both counts and there is little that it can be improved upon.

2017年11月29日 · Truth is the Nikon F6 was a work in progress like all its predecessors, but other technologies resulted in it being the last in the line. DSLR cameras did a lot of the things film cameras had been aiming for better, including faster AF, virtually unlimited image storage capacity and superior metering.

2023年6月5日 · For versatility the F6 offers more for the money. Nikon has loads of great glass for that camera. You do realize that it is also an autofocus camera. But I believe that you will find it will AF quite nicely and pretty darn quickly as well. For an inexpensive starter lens incase you have none, I recommend the Nikon AF 28-70mm f3.5-5.6 G lens.

2017年2月15日 · Nikon USA will NOT service non USA serial number F6s. Private service companies in the USA can not service the F6 since Nikon will not sell them the necessary equipment. I purchased two F6's used and made sure they were USA numbers. I shoot both F5's and F6's. On my chromes, the F6 is slightly better, maybe 5 to 10%. Anything else hard to tell.
