The Oceanic Fishing Pier is a classic wooden pier stretching over 450 feet into the inlet in Ocean City, Maryland--- where the Ocean meets the Bay. It’s a great place to fish and you don’t need a license! The Pier is open 24 hours from Memorial Day until Labor Day.
John reports a wide variety of fish caught at the Pier: bluefish, flounder, spot, croakers, kingfish, blackfish, triggerfish, sheepshead, sharks, sea robins and seabass.
The Pier is no longer open 24 hours on weekends; it is now open from 7 AM to midnight daily. October 17 - John reports that black fish (tautog), red drum, black drum, rockfish , seatrout, spot and sea bass are being caught on the Pier.
April 28 - John reports lots of fish biting on the Pier this week, including tautog, shad, stripers, dogfish, skates and puffers. May 6 - Bob reports that well over a thousand shad were caught this past week, often two at a time!
