I can understand the argument for doing both to get pseudomonas and staph coverage but I think its probably a bit overkill for most.

2017年5月8日 · Most puncture wounds are not debris-ridden. Most are dog-bites, nail punctures, knife wounds, etc and don't need extensive debridement. If it is a "small opening" puncture then I don't try to flush/rinse them out. Not gonna overpressurize a nail puncture wound by forcing 60cc of water into it via syringe.

You need to treat 1.5 million cases in the US to prevent one case of rheum fever. About 250 to prevent one PTA. Other groups of strep are not thought to cause rheum fever.

2016年5月27日 · I work in internal medicine 3 days/wk, urgent care 1 day/wk (all in the same clinic) and wound care at a different clinic. 8 hour days most days, some 9 hour days. In internal medicine I average 14/day (I'm still working to establish my panel - I have space for about 18/day). In urgent care it really depends. Can be 32 in 8 hrs.
