2017年8月22日 · can remove magnifier and have a 5 oz optic setup. 1x on red dot has infinite eye relief and wider eye box than 1x on LPV. when shooting both eyes open, or OEG style, can adjust magnifier windage and elevation to compensate for phoria without affecting POI, something impossible to do with any other optic. you don't need BDC for under 250 yards.

One other thing is that a scope won't have a true 1x, like the red dot alone. You get some magnification, which has an impact. (In many cases, it's actually 1.5x. I am running a leupold patrol scope that is a 1.25x).

Red dot only. Maybe magnifier if youve really got money burning a hole. I dont think you can justify an LPVO until you exceed 16 inches, thats when youre gonna have proper ballistics for longer ranges. At 14.5 id just slap a nice red dot on it and call it a day.

But given your choice between the 2, I’d probably go with a 1x-6x LPVO over a red dot/magnifier.
