The renal plexus is a complex network of nerves formed by filaments from the celiac ganglia and plexus, aorticorenal ganglia, lower thoracic splanchnic nerves and first lumbar splanchnic nerve and aortic plexus.

2023年7月24日 · The renal plexus is composed of fibers from the lumbar splanchnic, celiac plexus, and intermestenteric plexus. These fibers, particularly the celiac ganglion, can vary significantly in diameter and size and number of ganglia.

The renal plexus supplies the blood vessels, renal glomeruli, juxtaglomerular apparatus, and tubules of the kidney. They control renal blood flow, renin release, and sodium reabsorption (Shannon et al., 1998).

The renal plexus along the hilar renal artery comprised a fiber-ganglionic ring surrounding the proximal third of the renal artery, a neural network along the middle and distal thirds, and smaller accessory ganglia along the course of the nerve fibers.

In this study, we genetically and immunologically labeled the cholinergic plexus along the renal artery and its segmental branches. Moreover, we identified cholinergic ganglion cells within the renal nerve plexus.
