The tweaks i did software wise was remapping certain buttons, changed the dark mode settings to pure black (for some reason this isn't available in the stock settings) and changed the volume slider to make it look "cleaner" by using the precise volume 2. ...

The RG556 has the grips built in making them more comfortable to hold. The screen on the 556 is top notch OLED, it has the power to run most emulators at 2x-3x resolution. The RP4+ is hands down the most powerful of the bunch, but the native ergo's are kinda sucky.

2024年3月31日 · Im new to retro handhelds. I upgraded to the RG556 from the RG35xxH and it’s night and day. XXH was a little too compact and the build was just ok. The OLED and ergonomics of 556 are great. The RG556’s stock OS is good. Not pretty and somewhat boring…. But the games PS2, DC, GC are running nicely.

I think the design, look, feel and price of the RG556 is a step in the right direction and something Anbernic can build on. I wouldn’t be surprised if Anbernic comes out with an improved model later in the year that would beat the RP4Pro hands down.

RG556: Waaaaay cheaper like less than half price of Odin 2 if you get a good deal 🤯 Strong enough to do it all except switch. And if it does it all who gives a fuck if something else is stronger. But do not buy this if you want set once and forget machine, do not. Taking time to tweak games is cost of doing business with the 556

Rg556 sounds nice though I'm still waiting for people to get their hands on it for things reviewers didn't cover. For example, with the RG405M it had terrible audio latency. Fixed with latest GammaOS but was a huge disappointment for me til then.
