The stunning Salt Pond Beach is located near the town of Hanapepe on Kauai’s southwestern point and is the perfect campsite location for families, couples or groups of friends. The beach offers tide pools, two bays, calm waves and a large beach making it suitable for anyone to have an enjoyable time.

Jan 5, 2025 · So get a reservation and camp out at Salt Pond Beach. Camping permits are required and the park is closed every Tuesday from 10:00AM until 12 noon and on Wednesdays for maintenance. Camping Fees are $3.00 per adult, per night, and Hawaii residents are free.

Salt Pond Beach Park lies adjacent to the only natural salt ponds on Kauai. These Salt ponds are strictly for the use of Native Hawaiians. Salt Pond, is also an excellent beach for small children due to semi-protected ocean conditions. Choose beaches with a lifeguard.

Dec 28, 2024 · Salt Pond Beach Park is one of the few Kauai beaches that offer camping sites, though you need to obtain a permit from the Department of Parks and Recreation. Shaded campsites are available, and you have a lot of amenities including showers, restrooms, barbeque grills, outdoor sink, power outlets, and covered pavilions.

Located on the Southwest Side of the island just past Hanapepe is Salt Pond Beach Park, a county run campground. It is about 18 miles, or 30 minutes from Lihue. Take Route 50 west and shortly after crossing the bridge over the Hanapepe River turn right on Lele Road.

There is a natural salt pond near the beach that is used by descendants of Hawaiians to collect salt. Make sure not to poke around there without permission. There are restrooms, showers and a shady picnic area with grills here. Camping is allowed with a permit. To reach Salt Pond Beach take Highway 50 west from Kalaheo toward Hanapepe.
