The same surgeon also did two small skin grafts on my nose and neither of them took. The new skin turned black and fell off but new skin grew to cover the area. My father also had a skin graft on his nose which failed. Skin grafts on the nose are trickier and not always successful but this may not be due to inappropriate procedures.

I was told that scabs would come off in 5 - 7 days. Once all the scabs have come off the graft site and it is healing, then massage is recommended to break down any scar tissue formation and provide elasticity to the skin. This should be performed with the paraffin or other moisturiser for 5 minutes twice a day.

The scabs didn't totally disappear until about 6 weeks later, then I would rub the cream all over the graft. 3 months later it is such a difference, there's a few little bumps, which is scar tissue I think, and still a bit red round the edges.

2024年4月24日 · Hi Erik My plastic surgeon told me vaseline was very good. However once things had settled down and scabs gone I massged a few times every day and hard with Bio Oil. My scars are barely visible now. I had a skin graft and a skin flap both on my face whch looked horrendous for a few months, but now hardly noticeable.

Efudix is a tried and tested cream which is highly effective against sun damaged skin and various pre-cancers, Its performance on tackling fully developed skin cancers is less clearcut - the smaller and less-developed the cancer the better chance it has of being successful.

My skin cancer is on my chest so I'm struggling to not knock it constantly, especially when I'm trying to sleep and certain clothes keep sticking to it. I think it's all adding to the fact that I feel like crap, I'm always tired and just in general, feeling very sorry for myself.
