Serpent d'océan is a monumental sculpture made of aluminum, 130 m long in total. It represents the skeleton of an immense imaginary sea serpent, whose vertebrae undulate to end in an open mouth.

A snake skeleton consists primarily of the skull, vertebrae, and ribs, with only vestigial remnants of the limbs. The skull of Python reticulatus. The skull of a snake is a very complex structure, with numerous joints to allow the snake to swallow prey far larger than its head.
