Oct 26, 2021 · It’s really a P229, with the P229 slide, 229-1 frame, but wearing the P228 logo grip, when SIG originally released it. Some years later, SIG finally decided that it is officially a P229, so all current M11-A1s now wear the P229 logo grip. Pic here shows original P228 logo grips replaced with SIG SAUER logo Hogue made aluminum grips:

P228, P229, M11-A...What are the differences? - SIG Talk
Jul 1, 2017 · Welcome from Texas!! The P228 is 9mm only with a folded carbon steel slide. The early P229 had different frames for 9mm and .40/.357, the difference was in the width of the magwell.

Difference between P228 and P229? - SIG Talk
Feb 18, 2018 · Like mentioned before the p228 was intended only for 9mm. Therefor the slide is slimmer than the 229 and the frame is also different. That's is why the p228 holds 13 rounds of 9mm and the p229 in 9mm holds 15 rounds. The frame of the p229 was intended for the 40sw and allows for the larger 15 round 9mm mags that are not compatible with the p228.

P228 trigger Pull Weight? - SIG Talk
I saw a German P228 on GB with this in the description: Trigger pull DA 12 lbs., SA 4.5 lbs. The DA trigger pull on the P228 is 12lb, like the P6? I just assumed it would be 10lb, like the P225. Is it 12lb due to the sourse being police/military surplus for these pistols?
