However, the last few pieces will likely require you to use/create algorithms to orient and permute (for colour and location) the corners and edges.

Sep 19, 2016 · I have 3 DNF on the 3x3 with only 1 flipped piece. The mistakes are from the memorization and not the solve. I'm still building my letter pair words. I found that using a room and putting the object with a mental image of it really help. Especially for the corner since you have to remember them for a longer time.

Jun 7, 2014 · My best time is 1:09 with the beginner’s method, using a Rubik’s-brand cube (not a speed cube). What seems to slow me down is solving the first face. I can whizz through the middle and top layers.

Took me about a day to solve it for the first time using the instructions that come with the Rubik's brand cube. Here is the PDF guide. As far as brands go, really any cheap speed cube off Amazon will do. Avoid the Rubik's brand cubes, they just don't turn very well.
