I was looking at changing the sophos hardware, as it's getting old and wanting to have more recent hardware, with less power consumption I've been searching alot, and alot, to find the best deal, but can't decide which one to take.

2024年7月24日 · On sophos, at least on the version that I run (19.x) wireguard is not configurable on the firewall (only openVPN) so you have to run wireguard on a separate host. If you have other ubiquiti devices then UDMP has clear management advantages, I recently ditched all ubqt wifi APs and moved to ruckus so that is not an issue.

Home user license comes for free, and you get all the subscriptions mentioned above (that comes with pay if commercial). Only limitation is 4 cores, 6 GB memory. Which, is almost as powerful as an Sophos XG210 appliance.

2021年12月17日 · If you're looking at running a firewall on one of the Mx20q boxes the 8/9100T is probably your best bet, since it has good single thread performance for Coffee Lake CPUs. Some platforms like Sophos XG Home will limit you to 4 CPU cores (not threads ...) for their home license anyway, many firewall processes are single threaded.

Here is some perspective that is very important: If you do "Sophos UTM" instead of Sophos, the search levels over the last year are with the other four. 2017年8月29日 · Sophos UTM or XG isn't the most intuitive interface, there is a learning curve just figuring out where everything is. But then again it's the same thing with pfSEnse and OPNSense. They also take up more resources to run.
