2018年8月21日 · I think that Deryck had just gotten sick from drinking and couldn't do the shows and used his previous back problems as an excuse. Steve may have confronted him about his drinking problem and lying to the fans and shit, and that's when it all went sideways and Steve quit. Weren't there reports that Steve didn't visit Deryck in the hospital?

2020年8月4日 · Not that Steve wasn't a beast, but Zummo has the strength and passion to really drive the songs home. It was a bit of a rough start but he's kicking ass now and that beautiful SJC kit he plays has the perfect look and sound for the band, I don't think Steve ever would've made something like that.

2022年1月6日 · All makes sense and is essentially what’s been speculated before. Kudos to asking the question. It’s just a bummer that Deryck and Steve, two longtime best friends, appear to have had a serious fallout and never reconciled. We will probably never know exactly what happened, but it’s a shame that they can’t bury the hatchet.

2024年4月13日 · Steve did not visit Deryck in the hospital because they had already gone their separate ways. If he had visited, I highly doubt there'd still be tension between them As for Steve not giving his share of royalties to Deryck, that's not something I can answer with factual truths because I am not part of Sum 41 or any of their affiliates.

2019年7月23日 · The fact that Steve's a realtor now instead of drumming for someone else tells me that maybe his heart just wasn't into it any more. He had just had a kid when he left the group. Sum 41 tours a LOT, so being away from his new family would have been tough on him.

It will happen for sure. Not this tour. But when they inevitably do a reunion tour after some years have past and everyone is healthy and ready to play shows again, Steve will be back. Got a feeling he will reconnect with his old bandmates during the break and old wounds will be healed. They all are mature and chill dudes at this point.
