  1. The Official Timing Chain Thread! - Subaru Forester Owners Forum

2018年8月7日 · The only way to "inspect a roller chain to: 1. take it out and check for "stretch" or 2. Check it in situ for the relative positions of two sprocket relative to "new" condition. The chosen sprockets would need to be indexed when the chain is installed. I have yet to see any mention of timing chain issues in this forum.

2022年2月17日 · the timing chain tensioners operate on hydraulic pressure, so with good oil change practice the tensioners will do their job keeping the chains working properly. if for some reasons the oil drys up or becomes sludgy then you will hear so called chain slapping and need to have the tensioners and guides replaced.

2011年2月14日 · Even at the first start up there was no noise. I attribute this partially to the fact that I soaked the parts in 20w50 motor oil over night. I went all the way with this repair and replaced everything. I used Ultra Grey for the timing chain cover. No leaks after 300 miles. I used Genuine Subaru Coolant. 1 gallon full strength from local dealer ...

  10. What to replace when getting into timing chain - Subaru Outback …

2013年12月23日 · 3. When the tensioner fails it cause the chain to slap on the guides. This eventually causes the guides to break apart. Once the guide is gone, then the chain rides on the guide arm. Check my timing chain pictures on Page 3. There was a lot of aluminum on my oil pan when I later went to do my HG's. It all will be obvious when you get it apart. 4.
