They draw Sukuna more handsome based on the atrocities he's about to make to appease some of the fans and make them not hate him as much as he should be hated lmao. Imo, he was chad-ier this episode than Jogo vs Sukuna. Just imagine the hate Toji would get when he killed Riko if he looks like mfkn Juzo (the rack guy) or fkn Haruta lmao.

Yeah, hopefully fighting Rika reignites what we all came to like about Sukuna in the first place. Last panel of last chapter was the first time we’ve seen that signature grin in his Heian Era body tbh. Because since the ending of Sukuna vs Gojo he’s pretty much been a new character

I know a lot of people say that his markings/tattoos are inspired by the criminal tattoos of the Edo period but that is two time periods after the Heian period where Sukuna was active. The Kofun period, some 200-500 years before, was when documentation of tattoos for criminals began so it's still a possibility.
