Jan 11, 2011 · Swan Lake is a good place to launch but I never fished the lake itself...I always took a trip up the ICW and worked the marshes nearby. Dark/Chart paddletails, Gulp Shrimp and Buggs lures were all effective for me. If winds are low enough you can try some topwaters in/near/along the grassline as well.

Jan 10, 2012 · Swan Lake has a lot of structure worth a look: oyster reefs, grassy shorelines, smaller side drains, a major drain between the two parts of the lake, and a connection with the ICW. All lot of folks drive by and see a shallow mud hole and that is a truth, but no the whole truth.

Feb 22, 2015 · Swan Lake was my first kayak trip in 2018, at that time I had a cumbersome paddle kayak, no inshore experience, and no artificial lure experience. I think I caught a dink trout and a dink flounder that day. I ran aground more oyster than you can shake a stick at and got sunburned to hell.
