Telašćica bay is situated in the central part of the eastern Adriatic coast, in the southeastern part of the island of Dugi Otok. Thanks to its extreme beauty, richness and importance, this bay was declared a nature park 1988th.

Due to its specific position, the wider area of the Nature Park is exposed to winds, especially the southern wind jugo and the northern wind bura. The influence of the sub-tropical area of high air pressure is evident during summer season, which is usually dry and warm.

The area of the Nature Park can be accessed by a private or rented vessel, or in organization of many boat tourers and/or tourist agencies from the entire Adriatic which organize excursions to the Nature Park.

Telašćica Bay, after which the entire Nature Park is named, is located in the southeastern part of Dugi Otok Island. It is approximately 8 km recessed into the land, and in its southernmost widest part it is about 1.6 km wide.

The Public Institution of Nature Park Telašćica manages the Nature Park area in accordance with the Nature Protection Act of the Republic of Croatia, the Statute and other acts of the Institution.
