Themyscira (/ ˌ θ ɛ m ɪ ˈ s k ɪr ə /) [2] is a fictional unitary sovereign city-state and archipelagic island nation appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Previously known as Paradise Island and the Amazon Isles, it first appeared in All Star Comics #8 (October 1941).
