I place the thermostat in the housing, apply some GaskaCinch to the housing surface, then the gasket, let it tack up a bit then stick the gasket on, then bolt it on. As mentioned above, the surfaces have to be clean and flat.

2010年5月12日 · lol alright here's the thing i installed the gasket that came with the housing and used atv but forgot to put the thermostat in . but yea i used a scotch brite and cleaned up the silicone first than applied to housing and mounted. waited a day before i started the car and it started leaking. so i'll need to take it off anyhow to put the stat back in.

Then place the thermostat in the 1/8" housing recess. Then use my finger and put a thin coat of gasket maker on everything the gasket will touch. then put the gasket on it. I let it sit overnight to dry.
