I think the closest MX-style switches to Topre switches in terms of sound would be silenced ones. The rubber damping pads cut a lot of the sharper 'clack' sound out from keypresses, leaving you with a deeper and duller sound which is closer to the 'thock' of Topre.

2021年5月27日 · Thonk blew my mind. I was waiting for them to restock the enclosure for the FSS Brunswick and signed up for an email notification. I didn’t hear anything for a few months, so I reached out just for the hell of it. I got a response the same day with an offer to sell me the demo because it was all they had or would have for a while due to COVID.

2023年10月19日 · Thonk is still basically a baby, he also has a larger comb and wattle than his sister counterpart at their age. Plus, he appears Birchen based. Birchen hens only get color around their neck and chest commonly, similar to how his sister Bonk looks. The saddle area tends to me a male only color area.

"The issue I was trying to raise with the original concept was that Discord themselves don't inherently decide what is and what isn't an emoji within their service- In theory, sure, they could, but they're just following the same guidelines as the rest of the world, which is the entire reason the Unicode Consortium exists.

There are a lot of factors that contribute to the thock sound. Gat inks V2s (black) are definitly the best switch for achieving this and probably with a plastic switchplate like PC/Acrylic/POM.

After having tried a lot of tactile switches for my next build, I've gotten the best thock from Gateron Ink Blacks lubed with Krytox 205 Grade 0 and switch filmed (these are linear switches).

2020年11月30日 · Here, the thonk jacks are in particular a little smaller than normal jacks, and not using them could interfere with other parts. And then there's height, since the panel's going to rest on the jacks, the height is important to make space and the correct height for other components.
