Mostly known as the drummer for heavy metal act Motley Cra¼e, Tommy became known for some of his gimmicky drum solos, which featured a revolving and spinning drum set. Tommy has become an icon on his own right, and an epitome of what it is to be rock n roll.

They leave the arena's with a bang, and of course with Tommy's act with his insane Crüecifly kit, built onto a roller coaster track that spins in a loop and ascends about 60 feet in the air. We decided to collect all the info we could find on this drumset and its spectacular construction - just because we wanted to know.

Tommy Lee played his first DW kit on the Dr. Feelgood World Tour. In 1989, Tommy purchased a kit from Don Lombardi and John Good, helping convince them to fully push DW (previously a drum school) as a full-fledged brand.

It’s a special set that showcases an earth based designed. All of the green with warm-earth toned continents and deep blue ocean are on display around the kit.

This Pearl snare drum is one of two custom Free Floating snares that Tommy Lee used on Motley Crue's 1987 "Girls, Girls, Girls" tour. Both snares were 14 x6.5" Free Floating models with custom red hardware. One snare had a steel shell and this snare had a red lacquered maple shell.
