2007年4月13日 · Just remember you can't use the same trusses for 24", 48" or whatever centers. As the O.C spacing gets larger the trusses have to carry more weight and be built heavier. Like Joasis was saying it looks like it wil save money, but in the end it really doesn't. More expensive trusses each, more labor, etc.

2007年10月12日 · Last house we built with attic truss the span was 36' and the length of the portion of house with attic trusses was 46'. So with 24" spacing there were 23 trusses, with a 16" spacing there would have been 34 trusses. There was a space for a stairway that was 3.5' wide and this is why the truss count is off by one.

2014年2月20日 · Yes truss joists, are spec'ed for 19.2. Most good builders will still put them at 16". Can end up as a pretty bouncey floor. Never seen studs at that spacing though. Builders don't want to pay for blocking in cabinet areas. I hate 24"

2012年2月7日 · All of your specifications should be given to the truss mfg. I can think of many ways to complete the 4' opening all the way around once on site or in a drawing. I would get the truss mfg to work it out --they will do it -- it'll have the eng stamp on it and they'll do it in an hour rather than many more hours you'll put to it.

2011年8月7日 · Currently we space rafters 16" oc and use 7/16" OSB with H clips. We're in Dallas so we don't engineer for tremendous live loads for an asphalt shingle and we feel comfortable with 16" oc rafter spacing and 7/16" OSB decking. I'm contemplating upgrading to 1/2" or even 5/8" OSB though to reduce roof sag hopefully to nil.

2007年1月30日 · Purlin spacing is dependent on profile of the metal and gauge....plus snow and wind load, plus what the rafters are designed to carry. Without a set of blueprints with a PE's seal, you have no option but to follow the inspectors gig. FYI, we run purlins on 3 - 5 feet on center, depending on size of purlin.

2009年3月5日 · The plans called for 6x6 corners with 4x6s 8' oc in between. I switched to all 6x6s. Also, tarred the bottom of the 6x6s up to 12" above grade. The truss carrier is a double 2x12, one on each side of the 6x6s with trusses 4'oc. Code didn't call for the carrier to be notched. As 72Chevy4x4 said, go with a 2x12 skirt board.
