2012年3月22日 · $60 is cheap, I cant add anything everyone has already said but if you only have 3-4 cords to split this one time I would do it. If you plan on 4 cords every year then Id look to buy one. I plan on burning til I cant lift a splt and scrounge my wood so Im going to upgrade soon from my little 5 ton to a bigger splitter.

2012年3月22日 · Even with a hydraulic splitter, processing wood is laborious and you may wish to plan on having a good supply of Aleve (and beer) on hand to deal with the inevitable aches and pains. I struggled with "rent vs buy" question for years, and after having spent about $300 or so on rentals, bit the bullet on a used Huskee 28 ton.

2007年9月30日 · Hi, I also broke down and bought a wood splitter. I looked at several different units and found that Harbor freight actually carried a nice wood splitter. I know harbor freight isn't known for the best quality tools but I am happy with the unit I bought. It has a subaru (robin) 6hp engine, a barnes hydraulic pump, and has a 22 ton ram.

2008年7月11日 · Seems like between the tractor and the splitter, I was always refilling my jerry cans. I put new plugs in the tractor and that seemed to help. Might be time to change the plug on the splitter too. My only complaint about my splitter is the slow cycle time. I spend a lot of time (and gas) waiting on the ram to reach the wood and to retract.
