The .444 Marlin is a nice choice and it's a lever action rifle (I do love lever action rifles - certainly love my Marlin 30-30). The Winchester M70 Super Grade is a super nice looking rifle in 30-06.

2007年12月17日 · Gloss finish on rifle stock. Does anybody happen to know what is used to achieve the high gloss finish on a wooden rifle stocks? I have a Remington 742 with a high gloss finish, and the finish is so clear and bright that it looks like it is 12 inches thick. There is a scratch I would like to repair, but I don't know what the manufacturers use.

Also, the bolt lever in the pic. looks more rearward of the ejector port than mine is. Finally, the curve of the stock behind the action assembly in the pic. is much more extreme than the curve on my rifle.
