The Sam's Point Preserve, located on the highest section of the Shawangunk Mountains, is the most southerly section of Minnewaska State Park Preserve. The area comprises approximately 5,000 acres, and contains a globally rare community of high altitude pitch pine barrens.
The Park Preserve opens daily at 9:00 am year-round. Closing hours are posted at the Park Preserve entrance and are adjusted seasonally. Please inquire at the Visitor Center about various admission programs including the annual Empire Pass, Golden Park Program, and Access Passes. 1650• Vehicle use fee: $10 per car
