The Alfa Romeo Giulietta (Tipo 750 and Tipo 101, meaning "Type 750" and "Type 101") is a family of automobiles made by Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo from 1954 until 1965 which included a 2+2 coupé, four-door saloon, estate, spider, Sprint, and Sprint Speciale. The 2+2 was Alfa Romeo's first successful foray into the 1.3-litre class.

Alfa Romeo introduced their convertible version of the Giulietta in 1955. Known as the Spider, this new open top variant was available in two variants, the Spider Normale (base model), and the higher performance Spider Veloce. Designed by Pininfarina, the Giulietta Spider combined style and driveability to create a highly desirable package.

In 1955 Alfa Romeo launched their Giulietta Spider which used the 750-platform running gear with a Pininfarina-designed convertible body. The Giulietta Spider was Alfa’s first post-war convertible which remained in producion until 1965 and survived the transition to the 101 series platform.

Having enjoyed an enthusiastic reception for its sleek Bertone-bodied Giulietta Sprint coupe, Alfa Romeo soon followed up with a two-seat Spider convertible, like this 1959 model. See more classic car pictures .
